Car Maintenance Tips

How to Maintain Your New Car

Your new car needs regular maintenance to function well in the long term. Besides regular checks, make sure you do these things every two or four years to keep your car in its top condition.

Change the Filters and Fluid

It’s advisable that you change the filter and fluid every 36,000 miles or so. The filter and fluid system is there to make sure things work smoothly in your engine. Some newer car models don’t need the transmission fluid to be changed at all. Check your owner’s manual to make sure you have the correct information.

Flush the Cooling System

The cooling system does an important job of keeping your engine cool even under stressful conditions. After a few years, it needs to be drained and flushed to remain in its optimal condition.

The above tasks should be left to an experienced mechanic if you are not a technical person. Find a mechanic you can trust and stick with him for the life of your vehicle. By developing a friendly relationship with the mechanic, you don’t have to worry the next time your car behaves strangely.
